Update mit Tomas Blazek and friends: Cassientour 2009 – 2010.
Hallo liebe Newsbesucher.
Jan Federmann

Same as past 7 years I spend the christmas on Cassien.
I am visiting this place for so long, but I am always looking forward to be here. Some times I have just one free week to fish here, but I always want to stay here at least 14 days. My longest new years fishing here was 35 days. The difference between winter and summer is, that in winter is perfect time to catch heavy fish. The Carp are not so active and one take in 3 days can be success, the atmosphere is great. This year, 27.12. I went to Cassien with my friend Jirka, who was here for first time. Some guy from Germany caught Bernadette 3 days before our arrival. I missed it again! … Cassien was really full of anglers. I decided to go to rocks (rocky place) , where were no anglers and the wind was blowing the right way. I layed all my rigs by my special system over branches of trees and another features special for fishing on steep rocks. I was successful the first night and I caught nice 104cm 20kg mirror. He took V-POP soaked Carptrack Elite Strawberry Flavour and covered in Liquid/Powder paste. Very important thing on Cassien in winter is moving from place to place. We were moving every 3 days around the North arm. All other anglers were for long time without a fish, but we caught on every place some nice carp.
We moved to spots near by the Barage for last 5 days. I was very focused on preparation of baits and rigs. As usual. My very best choice on Cassien are CRU Longshank nailer hooks size 8 on the rig made of 25lbs Clearwater fluorocarbon with clear Mouthsnagger and system with 280gr captive inline leads. Very good way, how to catch shy fish is slack line fishing. After many years visiting Cassien I know which hookbaits are always successful! So I used on all of my rods 20mm V-pops soaked for 14days in Carptrack Banana Flavour. These pop-ups were covered in very tight stripe of powder paste and dipped in the flavour for second time. For baiting I used Fish/Banana Boilie made of Carptrack Fish Mix and Carptrack Birdfood Banana Mix with Banana flavour and Carptrack Tangerine Essential Oil, some Tigers or we were fishing just single hook baits. This time was something very strange. The Carp were not jumping. And another strange thing was that there was a snow falling for few hours. And I caught 15kg mirror when snowing. … For last two days we switched spots with Jirka. Last night was heavy rain and big fish were approaching Jirka´s spot. He had 5 takes during the last night and he caught two smaller carps around 13kg, nice 18kg scaled mirror, great old 19kg mirror and finally the big one 24,1kg common. He might have been a bit heavier when we landed him, but we weigh him later on in the morning – Ok a good 24 kg – nice!! We had together 25 takes and we landed 22 carps in 15 days. Thats very good result in my opinion. We were probably the most successful anglers on the lake for the time we were there.
Great sessions in 2010 for you too!
Best regards and tight lines!
